introduction

this complete set of machinery and equipment is based on the rich experiences of the chinese cane sugar industry over 40 years and the recent successful improvements in the technology and equipment in guangdong province. a few foreign modern machines are also adopted. therefore, the whole project attains to an advanced level. by this system, superior plantation white sugar can be produced with a high sugar recovery. mechanized and continuous production as well as safe and reliable running can be achieved, along with high efficiency and low consumption of steam and electricity.

this set includes a power station, using bagasse as fuel, providing sufficient steam and power for the production.

automatic control and measuring instruments are provided for main processing stages and the power station.

this plant has considerable potential. with the addition of some machinery, its capacity can reach 8000 tcd or more.

features of the process and equipment

cane handling

    cane delivery : cane is transported by trucks from the fields to the factory; weighing first on the truck then tare; unloading by crane to the piling yard or directly to the weighing-table.

    feeding :  after weighing, cane is fed uniformly through feed tables onto the cane carrier.

    preparation : 3 sets of cutter knives and one shredder are provided. preparation index reaches about 90%, which provides good conditions for milling.

cane milling

    mills : the tandem consists of five sets of 3-roller mills, the first and the last mill is equipped with a two-roller heavy-duty pressure feeder, and the other three sets each with an underfeed roller; they are of high efficiency. robust and approved construction of mills ensures high reliability and efficiency, as well as long service life. donnelly chute installed in front of each mill makes the cane feeding smooth.

    hydraulic devices : air-oil accumulators are installed for each top roller of mills.

    drive :  each mill is individually driven by a steam turbine, which provides full power and flexible running speed.

    imbibition and juice system : an improved compound imbibition system is applied to increase the sugar extraction. chokeless pumps of special structure provide smooth juice transport. rotary cylinder trainers remove bagacillo from the mixed juice effectively. weighing of mixed juice by automatic scales.

clarification

    juice clarification : tubular type equipment is used for juice continuous sulphiting and liming to gain high level of sulphitation (so21.2-1.5g /liter). suitable amount of phosphate is added when necessary. for refractory juice, flocculent solution is added to the juice before it enters the clarifier. high quality clarified juice are obtained by means of these and other measures.

    clarifier and filter : an improved continuous style clarifier with shortened retention time of juice is used. cloth-covered vacuum drum filters are employed; its filtrate is clear and enters evaporators directly.

    syrup clarification : sulphiting, or phosflotation as the client' requires.

evaporation station

    evaporators : quintuple-effect evaporators of standard style are used with two modes for selection:

    (1) evaporators connected in one series of nine bodies, in which the first and the second effect each consisting of two bodies, the remaining three effects each one body, the other two bodies for stand-by or cleaning in turn.

    (2) three tandems each consisting of five evaporators, of which one tandem for stand-by or cleaning in turn, being easier for managing. (less spare equipment is required if the factory shuts              down during every weekend.)

    vapor utilization:  vapors are bled from first two effects and used for all juice heaters and a strike pans to improve thermal economy.

    condensate system : a new condensate collecting and flashing system provides well condensate drainage and full reclaiming of all flashing vapor and hot water.            

boiling house

    boiling system : three boiling system, with a flexible materials flow diagram depending on the syrup purity and the requirement of product quality, has wide applicability.

    vacuum pan:  each pan is provided with a high effective stirrer. good circulation, reduced boiling time and lower steam consumption are achieved. ultrasonic sugar nuclei-making device is provided to present uniform and hard "seed grain". computer-control system can be offered at request.    

    vacuum system: two modes for selection:

        (1) each pan equipped with an individual multi-jet condenser for easy operation.

        (2) all pans sharing a system of barometric condensers and dry vacuum pumps, being of lower water and power consumption.

    crystallizers :  air-cooled style for a & b strike ,  water-cooled style for c strike.

    centrifugals :   for a & b strikes: high-speed fully-automatic program-controlled batch centrifugals with the latest pwm system are provided with high output and low power consumption; or semi-automatic sets at request. for c strike: continuous centrifugals, being of easy operation.

    drying and cooling : vibrated fluid beds are adopted; low sugar residual moisture and temperature are achieved, which provides good conditions for sugar storage and quality maintenance.

    screening :  vibrating screen for grading.

    package :  automatic weighing,  50kg per bag (or other package manner if required).

    storehouse   transport and stacking are mechanized.
